Misty morning

This was taken outside our house this morning. Note the single (lonely?) resident swan for whom I feel sorry.

I've had a lovely productive day which has included carpentry botchery, bread-making, mindfulness, dog walking, photography, shopping and reading.

I bought David Mitchell's new book "The Bone Clocks" today. I love this writer, most famous for "Cloud Atlas." This book starts well, just a few miles away from here in Gravesend in the summer of 1984. I remember that summer well, the year of the miners strike, because at the end of May I took a break from work and went on an extended holiday to India. When I got back to the UK I started my PhD in Bristol.
