Stirling- view from Old Town Jail

Stirling's Old Town Jail was a tourist attraction until its closure a couple of years ago. Today the building was open in the Stirling Open Doors programme and it was well worth a visit. The highlight is to reach the top of the watchtower from where there are superb 360 degree views of the city and surrounding area. This shot looks towards the tower of the Holy Rude church with Cowane's Hospital in the foreground and the Great Hall of the castle also just visible. It is a great shame that this fine building is no longer accessible to the public on a regular basis.
For this weekend there was also an exhibition of photographs of old Stirling buildings by the Dennistoun Photography Group. These were very interesting and gave me some ideas for other places to explore. Well done to this photography group..some great pictures.
