After showing a lovely group of people around Speke Hall this morning it was back home for lunch.

As it was a lovely day we cycled up to Grappenhall Heys where the newly restored glass houses are almost complete. The cafe should be open in a couple of weeks time with the official opening due to take place in October.

This is a great achievement for those who have been involved.

Then it was down to the cricket club where the 3rds were playing. It was great to sit on the boundary in the company of two lovely gentle men. One of whom turned out to be the father of the English cricketer Neil Fairbrother.
