Harvesting

Just been asked to help with a second harvest of Mulberries as some are so ripe they are falling off the tree. In return Mr H agreed to blip the efforts. The problem with Mulberries that you don't get quite as badly with blackberries is that they stain things terribly, including hands. A few blips ago I was asked how they are different to blackberries and I don't think I got around to responding due to study. This is a non- pro-gardener answer:

They grow on a tree rather than a climbing bramble
They are larger than blackberries
The taste is much more subtle and sweeter but in a lovely way
I think the tree has to be about 10 years old or so before it starts producing fruit whereas brambles seem to start at any age
Mulberries don't have thorns but the leaves of the tree are thick, leathery and a bit hairy (I am sure they are making my arms itch, post harvest!)

In other news it has been super hot down here today, really, really sunny. I've sat out in it a bit but had to keep coming in it was that warm! Not expected at all.

I am going through my thesis and trying to cut words again. It stands at 59,000 at the mo. I am also colour coding two themes so that I can see how much each theme runs into word length-wise. That way I can talk to my tutor about cutting them out if need be. At the moment he wants me to keep them both in.
