A splash of south american colour
I thought I'd bring a bit of colour to a dull February day. This is a detail of a wonderful painting brought back by my brother and sister in law who recently traveled through Chile, Bolivia, Argentina and Uruguay. This handmade painting is so vibrant that it makes me wonder why we don't paint the world in rainbow colours.
It seems to me that countries that benefit from hours of sunlight take advantage of the strong white light by wearing vivid colour and painting walls with vital hues. And we, with our drizzle and flat gray skies, are surrounded by concrete and monochrome. Still, this painting will brighten up my small part of the world.
