Happy Birthday, KIX!

Kansai International Airport, 20 years old today.

There was a lot of buzz at the airport this morning, and until I saw these signs I had *no* idea what the significance of the assembled media was.

Instead of champagne it's mini boxes of sake to toast this milestone - cleverly arranged for photos - and allegedly to be shared with passengers as well as officials attending the ceremony, although I couldn't hang around to find out.

Air France has champagne for everyone anyway! ;)
