Wax eye

Beautiful windless, sunny day here and so we were up quite early and walking through the Botanic Gardens. As a city, we are very fortunate to have such a space covering 21 hectares in the centre of the city.

This kowhai tree had three cavorting waxeyes that were hard to capture as they were flying around with great delight.
