Autumn leaves

Flat calm today and the midges were out in force! I've managed to get the whole of one bed dug over and several wheelbarrow loads of roots and weeds cleared from it. Decided the best thing to do to get rid of the midges and the roots was to have a bonfire so took the brazier along and had a good burn up. Got rid of lots of dead wood from the old hebe too, very satisfying!

Meeting in the evening for the Scottish open gardens scheme for next June. Lots of paperwork to get through, helped along with chocolate cake!
