THE IMPATIENT NANCY

Lovely surprise visit today - Nancy and her husband Mike from Portland, Oregon. Nancy's the one who bought the little requinto harp-guitar I made in 2012.

Nancy actually hails from New York, of a Rumanian Jewish family. She's one of the finest singers of traditional Irish ballads I've ever heard! Mike's a jazz musician & another guitar maker. I asked Nancy why she didn't ask Mike to make her a guitar & save herself $8,000?

"Oh, Mike's lovely but he's far too slow - & I'm far too impatient!"

We had a good Belgian meal on the terrace of the "Volle Gas" - Nancy enjoyed Moules Marinière - Mike, Carbonnades Flamandes - CC, Waterzooi & I chose Lapin à la Kriek. Mike took to Orval (Trappiste beer) with the enthusiasm it deserves!
