Dewberry Pie

So juicy it isn't wise to use a piecrust base! I picked these last Thursday whilst I wandered around my favourite area of our dune heath area near the shore.
Dewberries Rubus caessius are a native shrub similar to the bramble, but are a ground spreading plant. They have less prickles than the bramble, the fruit has a blue bloom and are smaller. Over the years I have never ever found any grubs or bug in these fruits.
Mrs J did the important part, producing the finished article.
As a follow up to Thursday 4th Blip I have had it confirmed by a well known wildlife photographer that the bird I blipped is the rare Long-tailed Skua.
