Ravenscraig Steelworks

This is the barren site and remains of what was once the biggest steelworks in Europe and the most modern in the world.
It employed thousands of men and women and covered several thousand acres .
When Mrs Thatcher's government shut it down then tore it down it eviscerated the very soul of the Motherwell and surrounding communities.
To this day they have never recovered.
