A bike among the flowers

I was attracted to this for a few reasons: the "interaction" between the flowers and the bike; the mosaic decor on the planter; the shadows; the colours; the bits of rust in a few spots on the bike.
I spent a bit of time on the picket line with teachers and support staff today and signed letters to be sent to the premier and other members of the provincial government. As a retired teacher and member of the Faculty of Education at UBC, I'm distressed and angry. Public education is so important, and our teachers and children deserve better. I hope that a resolution will be found soon so that our kids can return to school.
