Nestled in the blossoms is a relic from last year

As I walked down our road this afternoon the amazing colour of our neighbour's hydrangeas drew me over. But then I spotted a little bit of last year hiding in the blossoms. It was like a lacy shadow of a former beauty .... pretty but a really big reminder of how time flies.
