School days

L's first day of school today. She did really well. You only
Realise the input they have in your home once they're not in it anymore. Very quiet morning for me.

As an incentive to keep her onside I promised to collect her with her scooter so we could get some cooking apples to make a crumble. We made two in the end. Jaimie Oliver's (my fave) and one from an old recipe book. Gunners.

My dad came over to help bolt and connect the shower to the wall. He stayed for dinner and crumble, which made the kids so happy.

Neither of my brothers live in the UK and sometimes they feel like they're miles away. They both text today to ask how L found school. Different time zones permitting, it felt like they were just around the corner :)
