And gathering swallows twitter in the sky

A day off and what a glorious one! The horse chestnut trees in the park are already showing their autumn foliage and the conkers are starting to drop on the ground. These ones look like prize winners. This morning whilst Arwen napped I actually managed about 45 minutes sitting in the sunshine in the garden reading magazines. A strange feeling to have all that time to myself. Very tranquil. The swallows and house martins were twittering away up on the rooftop and swooping around; getting ready to head back to Africa no doubt. A friend and her little one who is a couple of months older than Arwen came here for a picnic lunch and we had a nice chat this afternoon. Picked the girls up from school and a swift turn around before the first swimming lesson of the new school year.
