Very lovely

Jenny and I go away together every year for a holiday together. We are now in Corfu, having got up at 2.30 am for the drive to the airport and an early flight. Four hours later we were being driven by a crazy taxi man to Paramonas, on the quiet and lovely west side of the island. All that's there is our simple hotel, and a beach. We had a little meze and a glass of wine on the terrace just under this tree - it's a bit Shirley Valentine, but no Tom Conti - so far. We can but hope. We then walked on the beach before having a little lie down on a sun bed. Tomorrow we can climb 450m up to the monastery on the top of the nearby hill, should we feel the inclination. It is supposed to be a walking holiday after all.
