Working The Land
Tourists can easily forget that farming goes on all around our town. It’s not just the tourist stuff (which is way worse in Queenstown) that makes the place tick and this morning I was riding business Class when The Boss decided to “Square The Block” and discovered Farmer Brown farming…The Brown…So to Bark.
It was a difficult shot ‘Cos it is a shingle road and at that hour there was heavy traffic and clouds of dust so we waited out the commuters while The farmer chappie did a few more circuits and when the coast, (that’s a stupid saying we are miles/ kilometres from any coast), was clear The Boss climbed on the door sill of Suzz to get a better viewpoint and did the clunks.
AND so it was that this afternoon The Boss was seen on my Blat track complete with treat bag but NO camera bag and I was seen marking a bright yellow SKI BOOT before being energetically re-directed by The Boss and also before the owner of said yellow thingie noticed. They had been having a picnic and I had got the “LEAVE IT” instruction which was all about the food remnants scattered about the place which I fully understood but could not have included extraneous foliage disguised as a ski boot. I mean boots are black…right?
Oh Look....Tractor
