What have the Romans ever done for us?

Saintes is a lovely town with a fairly impressive Roman heritage. It has a triumphant arch and one of the few almost complete amphitheatres around. I may go back and pay the fee to run around like 'Gladiator' as you can actually walk everywhere for a fee. This time, I just snapped the whole thing at a distance. Saintes was clearly important enough at the time to have this level of infrastructure.
