Hook-Up

If you buy a new car, the salesman gives you the keys and wishes you good luck with your new car. With a platform it is more or less the same. We did our job, the platform was handed over to the hook-up crew, but the keys were forgotten. They were still on the Hermod, so we had to bring them to the accommodation and support vessel Dan Swift, seen here on dynamic position with her telescope gangway on the platform. It is not an average gangway, completely computer controlled and all that data and information is gathered by the DP computer on the bridge. If the gangway is about to move position, the DP computer on the bridge knows it and corrects this way before the gangway actually moves.
