Black Darters

This was one pair of many Black Darters mating in the hot sun today at Loch Bran. The male is the top black one and the female the yellow one underneath. After, he will dip her in the loch to lay, bit like dunking a biscuit, quick and often!
There was lots of activity today; not only Blacks but Common darters too, also mating and laying and a Brilliant Emerald.
When I got home got a good shot of a Common Hawker laying in the pond behind the house. Everything making the most of the late summer sun.
