Kowhai

Found the first blossoms on my small Kowhai tree today. In Maori kowhai is the word meaning yellow and what a beautiful shade of yellow it is, contrasting with the tiny, rich green foliage.
I have been out all afternoon catching up with a good friend who was on her way to the opening of the Hamilton Art Sale which has its opening night tonight and where Charlotte has several pieces of her work for sale. As well as lunch, we spent the time searching for new shoes for her.... mission accomplished with two pairs being purchased plus a handbag!
Out again for dinner tonight, hence a very quick Blip.
