Black Pool, Yellowstone

One of the thermal pools along the edge of Yellowstone Lake at West Thumb Geyser Basin. Yellowstone Lake is the largest alpine lake in North America. This thermal pool is one of many such features in a small crater which formed within the caldera that formed Lake Yellowstone. These thermal features have the grand lake as their backdrop.
