A wish fulfilled.

We are now in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Somewhere I have wanted to visit for a long time. We tried to make it a return stop from New Zealand last year but it wasn't feasible so here we are, the filling bit in our North American sandwich!

We had lunch in Burrard Place overlooking Burrard Inlet and Canada Place with the cruise ships preparing to sail and watching the sea planes landing and taking off for tours over the city. We didn't arrive this way though, we came on the Amtrak Cascades train from Seattle. Beautiful scenery all the way; Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains ( not the Pacific ocean which is over 100 miles away ); the San Juan Islands and the bays around Bellingham - Hi Artist Annie a lovely place you live in, sorry we couldn't stop; and then finally into Canada at White Rock.

A great journey but a very early start so I am very tired now. We had an extra little treat - Dick Van Dyke was in our car (carriage) all the way. He looks pretty old but it sounded as though he was working still!
