Bonny Shoals....are gone

These lads work hard..... very hard....in a dangerous and unforgiving environment...and for scant reward... The Sheriff paid a quick visit to port tonight to tail prawns and unload for market.... One beer each as a present from a passing friend of one of the crew cheered them up..... Cast off again is at 3am to catch the tide......and struggle on again for a living wage. The EU has destroyed the lives of so many Irish and UK fishermen with restrictions and quotas for small boats while allowing massive factory ships move like a swarm of locusts in the surrounding seas destroying all about them for a short term gain. The east Coast fishing of razors is temporarily banned because a government body "forgot" to make alternate arrangements on water pollution monitoring when staff were on holidays so local fishermen are expected to do without until the problem is remedied...just saying
