Newport's Merchant Navy Memorial

A sculpture by Seb' Boyesen to commemorate the long-standing relationship between the Merchant Navy & the town of Newport; inaugurated in 28 April 1991.

My late father was Newport born & bred, & joined the Blue Star Line in 1946, & travelled the world with them for over forty years, finally as a Chief Engineer. In latter years, did the run from the Eastern seaboard of Canada & the USA to New Zealand & Australia.
