Old Odeon, South Clerk Street

A most fantastic art deco cinema built in 1930, but unfortunately disused at the moment. It closed in 2003. I have fond memories of watching films there, in particular in the huge main auditorium which holds over 2000 people. I remember when I first arrived in Edinburgh Braveheart was playing. There seem to be various schemes but it doesn't look like anything is happening. A great shame, especially since there are no cinemas around Newington anymore.
