The End of the Summer

Shoe shopping for J, K and S this afternoon.... They all need new school shoes, trainers for PE and trainers for kicking about in....not that Joe thinks he needs a new pair. He thinks these ones are fine....they are comfy, functional and it doesn't matter what happens to them because they already look like they've been chewed by a dog. I love the fact that he loves these old trainers....there's something quite nostalgic about it.

So we all spent the afternoon in shopping hell....in overly warm, under stocked shops full of other parents/kids and an increasing sense of desperation. We just about held it together long enough to get to eat out and, after pizza and beer, normality was restored.
