Messing about on the river

I do love Wednesdays, especially when we have fun filled days out.

Today we went to meet nana and pops in Spalding. We then hopped onto the water taxi and took the 30 minute boat ride to the shopping village just out of town. My parents have lived in the town since just before I was born and never have they been on the river so it was quite a treat. It was a fantastic ride. The town seemed so different from the water. So much quieter, so much slower.

P had fun spotting ducks and swans and like a wally she ducked every time we went under a bridge. Once at springfields we had a picnic and then a walk around the landscaped gardens before we caught the boat back to the town.

(Pops was on the boat with is when this was taken, but he was upfront chatting with the driver...just as dads do!)
