First Day

Well the vacation has started iffishly. (new word?) I made it to Xiamen without any problems and got to the hostel. It's a nice place but a bit out of the way, I think. The room has a Chinese toilet which I am kinda used to so that's OK. But it's clean and a nice room and the people are very helpful and friendly.. I went for a walk along the beach and took lots of pics. The blip for today is a HDR of an old jetty that is falling down and has a nice old beaten up dead boat in front. I wish my blipchooser were here to help me though.

So far, I am not liking Xiamen too much. The very nice people at the hostel took me out and pointed me in the direction of a reasonably priced seafood restaurant. When I rocked up at the door, the entire place stopped and looked at me. Everyone except for the waitress, who completely ignored me. They were really busy, so I gave her a little time, but after she walked past me three times, I got pissy and left. I hate bad service no matter how busy you are. After about 100m, I decided I was going back.. and so I did. They told me to go somewhere else. I grabbed a traditional dinner on the walk back.

Tomorrow I will go out exploring but the weather isn;t the best.. I packed my umbrella.
