One I've been waiting for
One of the stresses with moth trapping is that you sometimes see lots of other people reporting the arrival in their traps of a particularly iconic species of the month or season...and you still haven't seen it! This has been the case for me recently with this one - Centre-barred Sallow - but this morning I finally had two in the trap. What a wonderful sunny orange they are. At least they were when I finally got to them! It took rather a long time to sort through the catch this morning as I damaged my lower back last night and could hardly move this morning. Ironically, it happened as I was bending and twisting to position the moth trap after a day of rather heavy lifting at the nature reserve. When will I learn! I've been limited to 'desk work' today and even that has been excruciating at times.
