Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice
Work today, a couple of false alarms, ran 4km on the treadmill, read some of my book! Pretty cruisy!
Found out today I am not moving stations next roster, so at least one more roster before I go back to the inner city and have to travel over 1 1/2 to get to work!
The sky was really clear tonight so I went outside at 10.30pm and experimented with long exposure times. The focus was a bit tricky but I managed to get a few shots I was happy with. The longest shutter speed my camera has is 15 seconds. It is long enough to see the line the stars make as the Earth turns a bit!
In this photo you can see the 'saucepan' (a part of Orion) in the upper middle of the shot, there are three stars across the bottom, 1 in the top left and 4 in the handle pointing upwards. Underneath and to the right of the saucepan, there is a bigger star that is slightly orange in colour. This is Betelgeuse.
Just made this BIG
