Old gold mine at Lucknow
We travelled from Bathurst to Dubbo today with the Campervan and two grandchildren. For lunch we stopped at this little village where they used to have gold mines, this is the remains of the scaffolding which is both beautiful and a bit of an eyesore, depending on your personal view.
We have the kids with us as their mother is doing a course and is at a residential school. We decided on coming to Dubbo as we can visit my Mum and sister. Tomorrow we are going to the Western Plains Zoo which is a breeding zoo for endangered animals. The enclosures are large to simulate their native habitats so they are not in small cages like in many zoos. Tonight is the first night for the children in a caravan and they are finding it hard to go to sleep.
