Underground arts

This is the site of the Wellington Tattoo Museum on Wigan Street.

The museum was the brainchild of Steven Maddock a Wellington tattoo artist from Underground Arts who runs a tattoo studio within the museum. The museum seems to have survived several site moves and occasional threats to its viability. However, it seems to be under threat again and I haven't yet been able to discover what the current plans might be, except that there are plans to build designer apartments on the site using the tattoo theme!
