Kingfisher at Roche Harbor

It is now raining fairly hard, so I'm so glad I went out early down to the lagoon to watch for whatever might fly by. There was a lonely grebe, lots of crows, and this lovely kingfisher. This is the second day I've witnessed this particular kingfisher fish for a rather large fish, and go through the dinner preparation which included beating the fish against a dead tree for quite a while until it was no longer moving, and then flipping the fish up longways for a quick slip down the throat. Seriously, I felt sorry for that poor little fish.
