Hotel Manta of Helsinki

I visited Helsinki with wife and son. A fell asleep in the bus. I and mrs took advantage of the situation and had a belated anniversary lunch at restaurant Taivaanranta. They had great food and beers of microbrewery Teerenpeli. I tried their IPA, which was very good.

We visited Hotel Manta. Japanese artist Tatzu Nishi has built a real hotel room around famous sculpture Havis Amanda (also known as Manta). The female figure of the sculpture is standing on the hotelroom's bed. During nights the room serves as a real hotel room for customers (the hotel stayings were sold out quickly).

Decided to go for another of these. I used the view towards Kauppatori from the hotel room as a base for this collage. On the upper left corner is a detail of the wallpaper (with romantic nationalism themes) and on the upper right corner a detail of the lower part of the statue. Also the hotel room's transportable waste water container can be seen. On the lower left corner is the picture of the hotel from outside and low in the middle reflection from the hotel bathroom's mirror (featuring me in the reflection).
