Before I Go To Sleep
Monday night saw a trip to the Picturehouse Cinema for the Cambridge Film Festival to watch 'Before I Go To Sleep'. We witnessed a fantastic adaption of a brilliant book - it was as tense, engaging and enthralling as I had hoped, the best thriller I can remember watching in the cinema for years. It is out for release this Friday and it is a film which will not disappoint.
There was a Q&A afterwards with the author of the book SJ Watson and the director Rowan Joffe which was very interesting. However, the author SJ Watson is just Steve to those of us who went on the Camino last year and so we stayed behind afterwards to congratulate him and hear how things were with him (obviously going well!). It was lovely to catch up, the only shame being that Nic was at home dogsitting.
Rowan Joffe was also an extremely nice guy, who hugged me after I complimented him on the performance he got out of Nicole Kidman (she was sensational and hasn't been this good for many a year). It was so nice to meet someone who has directed the likes of George Clooney, Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth and yet was so humble and genuinely nice.
