True Colors

This is the first time I've been fortunate enough to get a reasonable shot of the Ruby Red Markings on the throat of the immature Ruby-throated Hummingbird male. So even though the photo is not the best technically, I'm pleased with it :) Here's another image of the SAME BIRD, where it's not so easy to see his bright red throat.

Some other shots today for your edification...YOUNG CAROLINA WREN. And a butterfly that I'm identifying for the first time, for me that is! This is a HACKBERRY EMPEROR (Asterocampa celtis). On my Life List! I'm jiving with ya...I don't have a Life List! ;)
