Getting there.
Gardening report:
I am way behind everyone in the harvesting stakes, probably 'cos I don't have a greenhouse, but today I was rewarded for all my care and attention. I noticed a flash of orange in the tomato plants.
"Hey! We've got one." I excitedly yelled to the Redhead. She was equally excited.
We had almost lost hope.
Upon investigation I discovered that there were over a dozen that had ripened virtually overnight. There are tons of them on the plant, if they all ripen I will have to open a stall outside the front gate.
I have learned a lot about corn in this my first year of growing it. Those ears are are what they call the flowers and they pollinate the cobs. This hairy fellow showing up is a cob. More wonders await.
I would recommend anybody to try growing this. It is incredibly easy to grow, is pest free, and even if it never produced a cob the lush foliage is exotic and tropical looking. They are over seven feet tall but survived the recent gales with no problems.
I'm late today because I had to toddle off and learn how to make a collage.
