A Bug
Corizul hyoscyami - at least, that is what I think it is - is a bug about 9mm long. Apparently it can be seen all the year round, but this is the first one I have ever seen. I found it on grass in the field behind our house. It overwinters as an adult, and the new generation appears in August and September, so I guess this is a brand new one. It is locally common in sandy habitas around the south coasts of England but is now spreading further inland.
