Fern Gully on the descent to the Kanimbla
This would have to be one of my favourite spots around and about Blackheath, but one that is really difficult to capture.
The huge boulders are scattered across the gully floor, stopped fast where they came to rest so long ago. Ferns and white trunked gums have grown around and moss has covered them so that what must have been a massive fall, seems benign now, passive even.
The gully is not as lush now as it's been, but still very beautiful.
