Night Drive
After a lovely meal with Johnny and Siobhán I decided to go for a drive in my own car, out towards Rosaveel, then onto (I think) the Furnace Road, somewhere along which I pulled in and drove back into what was now night (listening to an interesting enough play on RTE, set both on the Battle of the Somme and Belfast in the 1970s, during a UVF riot. My idea had been to get some road shots, headlights or taillights along the road leading roughly in the direction of the Twelve Bens, but I couldn't get the mountains positioned well enough, so I gave up on that. Anyway, it was nice to be driving nowhere in particular in either direction, glancing at a stir of rooks lifting from a copse or the milky/mercury light on the stretches of tranquil water.
After crossing a bridge over a little lake I stopped again and set the tripod for some night shots. Too close to the fast, buffeting cars, but I took a few shots, including the above.
