Wollaton Park is always a good day out, so when we heard the National archery finals were there, with side stalls and have a go sessions we had to go picnic in hand.

It should have been a pair of Lacasters passing over on their way to Gedling (of all places?), but Vera developed an engine problem and failed its airworthy test, so it was just thumper!

The route was well described on the Cropwell website and quite a lot of people chose this spot by the golf course, virtually closing Radcliffe road for a while!

It was a bit tense when it appeared over the Belvoir ridge and seemed to be heading further East of us, but it banked steeply over Hoe Hill and headed straight for us making the hair on the back of your neck stand up!!
