Thoughtful Thursday - Who was she?

Thoughtful Thursday in chandler63's August Challenge.

While clearing the house out I came across an old wooden trunk. It was locked, and during my clearing I didn't find a likely looking key, so this week I decided to practise my lock-picking skills.

I tipped the trunk up on one end so that I didn't have to bend quite so far, and lo and behold, the lid fell open! Inside were a number of school books from my days in primary school and my brothers in grammar school. There were also a couple of old girls story compendiums. One of them had this written in it. I have no idea who Rose Vickers was. I do know that my mothers family lived in Marsh Road for some time, indeed her Grandmother ran a shop there. The rest of how she came to have this book s something to think about.
