The last brood

close to leave the nest. I was not surprised to see the doves use the same nest as they successfully did in early summer . They are sloppy nest builders and often I have seen their efforts been blown away. So, as this one worked once, it better worked twice! And there they are! They always sit perfectly still, stare at us when we leave the house but do not flinch. I love the big shiny eyes...

Look in large for shinier eyes :-)

PS I called it the last brood as tomorrow it will be September. The days are still in the high eighties, the sky is crystal clear and light blue but the nights are slowly getting colder. So I presume there will not be a third brood ...
