Fattening up...

These Canade Geese settled in this field about 10 days ago. Apart from short training flights they just sit here and eat grass all the day long, fattening themselves up for the long flight south as winter draws nearer.
They are very wary and because I stopped the car to take this photo they all stood up and got ready to go if Idid anything that looked threatening. This is a sensible way to be when you are a prime target for a fox or lynx and are too far from the water for safety.
I wonder when they’ll go?
I got a bit behind in my blipping so this is the last of four pictures that take us to the end of August.
