Toots in Solitude

Healing Collage

In the late '80's my father had a stroke which luckily was not fatal but bad enough.

Each day he made sure he made a step of progress, pushing himself towards mobility.
He also decided that he would occupy himself by taking up sewing which he'd never done before although Tailoring had been an occupation of some of his ancestors. Being a man of scholarly aptitude he set to making various Egyptian collages and gave them each to my sisters and brothers.
I didn't get one but was given instead a playmat which he made for my young boys with roads and fields for their cars and animals, etc.
This year my younger sister gave me this one as he'd made two for her and she no longer had room to hang it. I wish he were still here to talk me through this.
