Porty Prom
It was a full and enjoyable day - an early visit to the farmers market and a brief wander through the Dean Gardens, then we caught the bus down to Portobello to have a look at the Big Beach Busk, as advertised by Whisky Foxtrot. It was very busy and fairly splendid.
We overheard a discussion about the referendum amongst some overseas students when we were on the bus. They wondered how long it would take to count the votes (they decided on two weeks, probably!) and whether their UK visas would cease to be valid if there was a Yes vote - they thought that an independent Scotland might have stricter immigration rules than England.
In the evening we went along to the Cricket Club on the Links to see Buckley's Chance - lots of pals old and new were there (including Trev and Mrs Trev and also blipper almond whom we hadn't met before. The music was great, as ever, and a considerable amount of beer was consumed.
A grand day out!
