The Hoover Dam

I know Joe took this photo and it is a selfie but I think we both look so happy in this picture in fact I was quite emotional. I know it makes us science geeks but I had always wanted to see the Hoover Dam and it did not disappoint. The Art-Deco style and the scientific wonder of how it was built was quite spectacular and the sheer height of the Mike O'Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge in the background it was all quite overwhelming. We drove to Las Vegas today from Phoenix in the Nissan Sentra. This was my least favourite of the cars but it got us where we needed to be. We stopped off for lunch at Arby's and ticked off another American dining place and as the Hoover Dam was not far from Las Vegas we arrived not long after this photo was taken at the Luxor, strange pyramid hotel but big rooms and a lovely view of the pool. In the evening we headed around some of the casinos near by and had a wonderful Chinese meal in New York New York.
