The Butterfly Project

I went into Lewes this morning to view a couple of exhibitions in Artwave and came across this display in the window of Kings Framers. Apparently the butterflies and moths are sourced from a non-profit breeding programme that "supports research into protecting the habitats of these beautiful creatures through local education programmes." That may be so but I'm not convinced that its appropriate. With price tags of several hundred pounds each I suspect it might equally encourage others to take specimens from the wild.
