City to Surf.....

Today was Perth's 40th City to Surf annual event. What started out as a fun run years ago is now a major international sporting event. Everything from full marathon (42k), half marathon, 12k run, to a 4 k walk - something for everyone! 50,000 competed.

The marathon winner was a Japanese athlete, Yuki Kawauchi, who ran in record time (2 hours, 12 minutes) and then flew back to Japan this afternoon ready to go back to work tomorrow - Phew!! I think he takes fitness to a new level.
